Each year, the bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes comes calling. This Sunday, May 1, 2016, Bishop Roger Ames, and his wife, Gretsie, made yet another visit to St. Augustine’s. And there were several celebrations; Bishop Roger received and blessed two of our new members – Nadine and Deanna; Fr. Kevin marked the 8th year of his ordination to the priesthood; St. Augustine’s reached the five-year mark, coming together for bible study and the Eucharist in the Maney home in 2011. Finally, the church presented the Ameses a check for their travel fund to Italy in celebration of the bishop’s official retirement from the diocese. (He will serve as an assistant bishop to newly-consecrated Bishop Ron Jackson.) And, finally, little four-year-old Jackson took his first communion today! Thank you, Lord, for the outpouring of your blessing and love on these, your children. To see photos of the day, click here.
