St. Augustine’s came together on Shrove Tuesday 2016 to ready ourselves for the Lenten season. Thanks to the Buehlers for hosting a lovely dinner, and for Carl, who detailed this pancake event. This past Shrove Tuesday, members of St. Augustine’s gathered at the Buehler’s house for a pancake dinner, the traditional meal on the night before Ash Wednesday. With Ann and Beth manning the griddle, there were more than enough pancakes for the hungry crowd. Along with the pancakes, there were a number of toppings and sausages to round out the meal. Fellowship was lively, including a rather lengthy discussion over what constitutes proper fasting, led by the one and only Dr. Falor. As another Shrove Tuesday ended, I know I left with a stomach full of pancakes and a heart full of cheer, encouraged to enter into the Lenten season, and I would imagine that all who attended felt the same. Thanks to the Buehlers for hosting another great event!
