Shrove Tuesday Feasting
Shrive: to confess and receive absolution
Shrove Tuesday, the first Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, is the vigil for the start of Lent. It is a day of repentance and is the last day for celebration prior to Lent.
Shrove Tuesday originated in the Middle Ages and became a day of feasting to use up perishables such as meat, eggs and milk that traditionally would not be eaten during Lent fasting.
In English tradition, Shrove Tuesday is known as Pancake Day! So come feast with us on Shrove Tuesday, March 5th at the Buehler’s home. Continuous flipping of pancakes from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Stop in for a few minutes or the whole evening and please bring friends!
