St. Thomas Anglican Church in Athens, GA has provided a website for the Christmas season – the 12 Days of Christmas. St. Augustine’s will share ideas for you and your family to draw you closer to Jesus.
Below is the overview and ideas for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:
- We want to inspire people to celebrate the traditional “twelve days” of Christmas by spreading gifts, family time, or reflection across a dozen days, beginning on December 25 and ending at Epiphany (January 6).
- We’ve included gift ideas, reflections, carols, scriptures, prayers, excerpts from literature, etc., on this site to give you some ideas of what this might look like.
- You may want to fast something (Christmas music, sweets, meat, social media) during Advent so that you are not sick of Christmas before you even begin. Do what you can to delay Yuletide gratification.
- This is a tradition that has worked for us. If you like the idea, take what you think works for you, or just be inspired by the idea of enjoying an entire Christmas season.
