You take an old altar in a barn (on a dirt floor, nevertheless), a giving bishop and a truck-driving priest, some congregational muscle, and a warehouse – and you have a sacred gift to St. Augustine’s Anglican Church!
This month, Bishop Doc Loomis offered used church hardware to the members of the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes. Our church was given a seven-foot altar. Fr. Ric Bowser drove a rental truck to Akron on Monday, May 12th, 2014, and Bishop Doc and he loaded the altar for a return trip to Columbus on Wednesday. Curt helped to unload it, and Sarah offered her warehouse for its storage.
The altar needs some refurbishing, which Fr. Ric and Curt will lovingly provide, and it seeks a more permanent home, which we are praying that the Lord will show us in His time.
