My name is Ann Rees, and I live in northwest Ohio, near Van Wert, OH. I have discovered a fun and valuable way to fulfill some of my Christian giving. During August each year, two intersecting highways in our area, share a huge garage sale blowout week-end. This opens up hundreds of individual sales for the locals, such as myself to explore. I spent two afternoons scouring these sales for children’s coats.I approximately 3-4 hours, I scored over 30 coats and several quilted vests. I managed to do all this for an average of under $3 per coat or vest. Now, the question is how to distribute all of these. Luckily, I have a cousin, Kevin Maney, who is an Anglican priest. After I heavily laundered these coats, my husband and I delivered them to Fr. Kevin, who is helping to see that these get into the hands of those who need them the most. I really love searching for these bargains, and I feel God’s hand in the entire experience, for me, the children who benefit, and of course, Father Maney.
