Last Monday, I was pretty stressed out as my work load mounted and some personal issues left me angry at God. It was an emotional one.The end of the work day slowly approached and I began to gratefully pack my things.
Before I could scoot out the door, my general manager and I began a discussion on the company’s culture and what we value. The conversation gradually morphed into one of a more personal level. My GM flat-out asked me if I knew my purpose in life and why?
“WHAT?” I said to myself. I was caught totally off-guard! It was at this moment that all my anger at God was put on hold. Here I was called to share my faith at an unexpected time. God’s funny like that, right?! When we least expect it, he puts us to the test.
I shared with my GM about Christ’s love, my faith, and why I feel called to be a light to others in this broken world. After the conversation ended and I was alone, emotion overtook my heart. I went home and shared my experience with my husband, David, who dried my tears and helped me look at the big picture. I was viewing the day’s events through the knot of my own pain. God clearly had a bigger plan and used me, despite my poor attitude, to plant seeds in someone else’s heart. This revelation brought a sense of peace and healing.
You never know when God’s going to call you to share your faith. The opportunity to witness this week came at an emotionally inconvenient time. God is working in ways we can’t even imagine. We’re all a part of a bigger picture… which is a beautiful thing.
