On the coldest day of winter in 2019, I discovered St. Augustine’s Anglican Church. Actually, I discovered an empty Ellsworth Chapel because all the intelligent people of St. Augustine’s were in their comfortable, snug homes—where I should have been.
Fast forward to the summer of 2020 when twenty days in July were in the 90’s. On Sunday mornings the intelligent parishioners of St. Augustine’s church could still found in their comfortable homes. Some things never change.
But this summer brought one very significant change for the parishioners of St. Augustine’s. A church building! No more nomadic life. There is a common vision for this building to be a gathering place, a place of fun and fellowship, a place of ministry and outreach, a place of prayer and worship. This will be a home for our church family.
There are a number of start-up costs which were expected: painting, drywall work, chairs, fixtures, etc. Although this building is new to us, it is old to the City of Westerville. Certain codes must be met in order to obtain an occupancy permit. Among these expenses are improved handicap access, crash bar doors, updated electrical work, etc. Hence the commencement of St. Augustine’s first Capital Campaign!
In the coming six months we need to raise $90,000 to cover both start-up and compliance expenses. Simply put, we are asking you to give generously of your time and resources. I am tremendously excited to watch how the Lord will provide. There will be stories and testimonies to tell for years to come.
Be prepared. We may ask you to share your testimony in this Campaign Communication. Most of all be prepared for the Lord. He is going work in and through each one of us.
To the glory of His Name,
