During the celebration of Pentecost this past Sunday, all of us at St. Augustine’s got a chance to experience, very slightly, what it might have been like on the Day of Pentecost when the disciples spoke to the crowds in every language. We read Act 2:1-21 in six different languages–English, Latin, Koine Greek, Japanese, Swahili, and Spanish–an idea that was inspired by the last church I attended. It was a wonderful display of the diversity and unity of our parish and the church worldwide. Special thanks to Benjamin, Terry, Ken, Christopher for reading, and a special thanks to Susy Naso for sending in a video of her reading in Spanish! If you missed it, be sure to check out the video that Dondra took!
