On Sunday, June 21, 2015, St. Augustine’s had its first service at our new location, the Central College Chapel, located just a few minutes down Sunbury Road from our previous location, Hondros College. The sun was shining (a rarity for this past week) and the chapel was full of faithful parishioners to celebrate the next step in God’s journey for this parish. The one thing that stood out to me over the course of the service was how different everything sounded. The music and singing seemed more full and vibrant, resounding around the sanctuary. The sounds of people greeting each other during the peace took over the room, filling it with joy and fellowship. Father Kevin’s sermon carried a different tone, as he exhorted us to trust in God’s unconventional power. After the service, we retired to Kirk Hall for some refreshments and the children were able to run around the gym to their hearts content. Amid the transition and new surroundings, one thing was abundantly clear: the congregation’s spirit of fellowship and pursuit of God’s plan has not changed. We may be in a new location, but we are singing the same song we’ve been singing since the beginning. –Carl Join St. Augustine’s at 10:00am on Sundays for worship. After the service, the congregation will gather in Kirk Hall, where the children can play ball and the adults can visit over a cup of coffee!
