Sarah’s mom was in a nursing home for a couple of years, and she died last October. Visiting at Worthington Christian Village was a mission Sarah wanted to support, but the memories of her own mom were often too strong for her, and she didn’t go with the St. Augustine’s team on any regular basis. But, God is great, and God is good – and He presented an idea this month that would bring His blessings to Sarah and to the residents of the 6th floor: taking Sir Winston, Sarah’s Scottie, for a Sunday visit. Winston is only a year old, and he’s still learning his manners. Sarah had to give him a few last-minute pointers in the parking lot before he came in the building. But, she was loaded with treats for the right behavior, so this puppy was highly motivated. We visited several folks, all of whom produced big smiles when seeing Sir Winston meander into their rooms. By the end of the hour, he was leading his mom, strutting his stuff and creating joy at every turn. And Sarah? With her pup on one side, and the Lord on the other, she brought blessings to the men and women on the 6th floor, and in return, received her own blessings for paying it forward in her mother’s memory. Speaking of memory, we remember our dear friend Bob, who passed away this month. He brought great joy to us with his twinkling eyes, his clever comments, and his good spirit. May Bob rest in the Lord’s care.
